By Ian Harris, chairman of the Norfolk branch of the NAEA, and an agent with Watsons in Norwich.
Many would be surprised if I said “distinctly dynamic”. To be fair, the “normal” activity that is missing are people just starting to think about a move and there are usually plenty of those. Right now the quality of applicants is high with quite a few active buyers who have just sold their own property and good offers are being made.
All this is a world apart from the black hole of despair we were staring down last year following the worst of the banking crisis. Agents are now in eager anticipation of what the New Year will hold, hopeful that sensible relaxation of the lending restraints will encourage more sellers and buyers in to the market.
