So there we have it. The announcement of the forming of the coalition government neatly marks the end of a sequence of recent events starting with Easter, followed by an ash cloud and then a general election. All reasons not to be cheerful as an Estate Agent as the market stuttered or as some cynics or vendors may view as running out of excuses for not selling their houses.
On the positive side, the Conservatives did promise to scrap the onerous and generally unpopular Home Information Packs and they seem intent to see this through. However, this may reduce some agents income streams who saw Hips as a vehicle to exploit the public for profit – shame on them
I read recently that St Albans was the place to live if you wanted to pay the highest amount of your income to the Treasury which amounted to £11,000 per year or 24.2% of income to be exact. It’s reassuring we are doing our bit to reduce the £163 billion pounds worth of debt the country is in.
I look forward to a period of calm after all the storms but would expect some ill winds to soon blow with a short lived honeymoon period. If you are considering a move I would be delighted to offer you a free valuation as we are seeing buyers coming back into the market after all these events. We don’t do excuses at Aitchisons.
PS: When does the World cup start?
