I hope, like me, you are pleased to see that Home Information Packs have been consigned to the parliamentary dustbin! Most vendors and agents I have talked to felt that they were an unnecessary expense and caused a frustrating delay in the selling process. The Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), however, will stay and are required on every property in order to help purchasers make informed decisions on the energy costs.
It is hoped that this action will encourage sellers back into the market and help the market as a whole which, in turn, will hep the economy to recover. The painful reality of the national debt has not sunk in quite yet and there are sure to be some surprises around the corner. I would, therefore, urge those who are thinking of selling to do it sooner rather than later!
