What’s up with the lettings market?

Whilst there is no doubt its going to be a hairy old year for some, there are definitely reasons to be cheerful as the song goes! Last year, especially the end of the year, was fairly dire for lettings agents with tenants losing their jobs, void periods increasing and a general reluctance by tenants to commit to new leases. Void periods increased and you could be forgiven for wondering where it was all going to end!  But Hey –  guess what? Last month we got off to a flying start, and we let more property in one week than we did in the whole month of November or December. The phones are buzzing and viewings keep happening. I think its going to be a while before rents firm up again but at least we are seeing void periods shortening.
