Buyers’ confidence building, reports East Anglian developer Bennett Homes
Buyers’ confidence in the property market is growing, according to Bennett Homes ‘ managing director, who reports buoyant business activity for the second consecutive quarter this year.
Edward Parker, head of the award-winning company which builds properties throughout the region, says there is a palpable change in the public’s general attitude towards moving home. He says: “The mood is far more positive than it was a year ago. Home owners have a genuine desire to move – their actions are no longer being dictated simply by need. They are tired of waiting and watching the market and
they simply want to get on with improving their lifestyles.
“There is also a widely held view that property prices have fallen as far as they are possibly going to and buyers don’t want to hang on any longer and run the risk of losing the property of their choice. There are some real bargains to be had.”
Bennett Homes has sold all remaining properties on its developments in Northrepps, near Cromer and Taverham, Norwich and is handling a rising number of inquiries on its four other sites.
Visitor levels at its newest development, Hayfields at Downham Market, which were up in the first quarter of 2009, have continued to rise markedly since Easter. Such is its confident mood that Bennett Homes is also planning to start work on a new development in the region in the coming months to meet the expected demand.
Mr Parker adds: “We are reinforcing our confidence in the market as it continues to improve by forging ahead with expanding our property portfolio in order to accommodate the needs of first-time buyers, families and active retirees.”
